Coneb’s Corporate Social Responsibility
In May 2024, Coneb proudly launched its maiden internship and technical training initiative as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to Ghana. In partnership with Pilot Technical Institute (NVTI) and Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), we welcomed 17 promising students into an intensive two-month training programme designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world industry practice.
At Coneb, we believe that sustainable business growth must go hand-in-hand with community development. As a company operating within Ghana’s industrial and technical landscape, we recognize the critical need for well-trained, competent young professionals who can drive innovation and excellence in mechanical and electrical fields.
Technical education in Ghana continues to grow, yet many students have limited access to hands-on industry exposure. We launched this programme to:
For us, this initiative is more than a programme, it is an investment in the future of Ghana.
Over the course of eight weeks, the 17 trainees participated in structured theoretical sessions led by Coneb’s senior managers and technical experts. These sessions covered key mechanical and electrical principles, safety protocols, industry standards, and problem-solving methodologies used in real project environments.
Beyond the classroom, students accompanied our skilled technicians on field assignments, where they gained first-hand exposure to real operational environments. These field trips allowed them to:
This blend of theory and immersive practical experience ensured that students did not simply learn concepts but practiced them.
The transformation over the two months was evident. Many students began the programme
eager but uncertain; they left with increased confidence, technical competence, and a clearer vision
of their career paths.
Through mentorship and direct engagement with industry professionals, they developed:
For several of the trainees, this was their first exposure to a structured corporate environment. The experience broadened their perspective and strengthened their readiness for the demands of Ghana’s industrial sector.
As they return to complete their tertiary education, they do so with practical knowledge that gives them a distinct advantage in both academic and professional settings.
At Coneb, we measure success not only by business growth but by the positive footprint we leave behind. This initiative reflects our belief that empowering young people is one of the most meaningful ways to build resilient communities.
By mentoring and training these students, we are helping shape a generation of technically skilled professionals who will contribute to Ghana’s infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy sectors. Their growth strengthens the industry as a whole, and ultimately strengthens our nation.
When young people are equipped with practical skills, entire communities benefit. Skilled graduates are more employable, more entrepreneurial, and better positioned to create value wherever they
work.
The long-term community benefits include:
By investing in these 17 students, we are investing in families, local economies, and the broader
Ghanaian workforce.
Our inaugural 2024 cohort has set a strong foundation for what we hope will become a recurring and expanding initiative. We are proud of what these students have achieved in just eight weeks and remain committed to strengthening partnerships with technical institutions across Ghana.
We congratulate the Coneb Internship Class of 2024 and wish them every success in their future endeavours.
At Coneb, our commitment to community development continues because when our communities grow, we all grow.
